Mass Unfollow on Twitter

OMG! I just discovered the Chrome Development Console! How handy this is going to be. To access this, open the Chrome Browser, then CTRL+SHIFT+J.

So to mass unfollow everyone that you follow on your Twitter account there is no need to sign up to some expensive service.

Simply follow these 5 Steps:

step 1: sign in to your twitter account
step 2: click on ‘Following’ (or navigate to: and then a page will appear of people you are following.
step 3: open My new best friend, the Chrome Development Console (The shortcut within the Chrome Browser is: ctrl+shift+J)
step 4: scroll down this page until the last follower appears (*see below to automate this step)
step 5: copy and paste the following code in the console and click enter:

$('.js-follow-btn').each(function(){ $(this).trigger('click'); });

You will need to wait a few minutes depending on how many people you are following.

If you are even more lazy and don’t want to have to manually scroll down through loads of followers, you can also use the console to automate step 4 and speed this up a little:

var scrollInterval = window.setInterval(function () {
}, 1500);

Again, wait a few minutes until it reaches the bottom.

It is not advisable to use this code on a page that has thousands of posts available like Facebook. If ever you want to stop it you should enter the following snippet of code into the console:

Additional Notes:

How do I unfollow all the people I follow on my Twitter account?

An alternative snippet of code for step 5 is:

and if you want to automatically Follow a large number of Twitter accounts in one click from a perticular user use the following code:

$('.button-text.follow-text').trigger('click'); – although mass following quickly can get your account disabled, so this is also not advisable.
